The launch of the musical career of Cassio Audi came in 1985 when one of the most iconic drummers in Brazilian music history began his professional career as a member of the legendary heavy metal band, Viper. Although Viper remains a successful recording and touring band, Cassio Audi has not been a regular member of the group since he made the decision to return to his academic studies in 1989 as the band prepared to create their second studio album, “Theatre of Fate”. In the 21st-century, Cassio Audi has built a second career as a financial expert working with some of the world’s best-known banks and financial institutions.
In 1985, Cassio Audi was a teenager who came together with a group of his childhood friends to establish a band and share their love of British heavy metal legends, Iron Maiden. This early version of Viper featured Cassio Audi on drums and highlighted the influence the invasion of British heavy metal was having on the youth of Brazil who had lived their early lives under the totalitarian rule of a dictatorship and learn more about Cassio Audi.
Viper began by building an impressive following for their live shows and began working on their own material, often featuring English language lyrics and a musical style similar to that of Iron Maiden. Cassio Audi and his bandmates began to make an impact at national and international level with the release of bootleg copies of their demo recordings under the name, “The Killera Sword” when critics praised their abilities as musicians.
