Aurora, Illinois-based OSI Group announced the acquisition of Flagship Europe, a subsidiary of Flagship Food Group. A provider of sous vide products, condiments such as dressings and sauces and frozen poultry items to the food service sector in the United Kingdom.
Flagship Europe controls a large percentage of the food-to-go marketplace with its recent acquisition of Calder Foods. Headquartered in the United Kingdom, Calder Foods supplies condiment products such as sauces, party dips, marinades, and sandwich spreads.
Flagship Europe Chief Executive, Russell Maddock commented on the acquisition by the OSI Group, “This is another exciting and progressive development for Flagship Europe.” The increased resources that will become available to us, along with the access to new clients worldwide, as part of the OSI Group, will fortify our position in the marketplace, strengthen our proposition and open up new channels. This will enable us to cater to our customers better.”

The OSI Group continued its aggressive pursuit of food service providers with the acquisition of Baho Food. OSI Group assumed a controlling percentage of Baho Food, a Netherlands-based organization. Baho Food operates five subsidiaries, with Q Smart Life, Henri van de Bilt, Gelderland Frischwaren, Bakx Foods and Vital Convenience. It maintains production facilities in Germany and The Netherlands.
Established in the early 1960’s, Baho Food manufactures and distributes convenience snacks, highly desired delicatessen style meats, such as bologna and salami and popular snacks. The Baho Food product line serves consumers across Europe.
Baho Food Managing Director, John Balvers remains with the organization and will work closely with OSI management to ensure a seamless transition and strengthen the combined product line, as the company moves forward.
